Ronald McDonald House

For Conner's Birthday, he asked all his guests to bring a donation for the Local Ronald McDonald House. He had a large donation that he gave to them on his actual Birthday. Then, he was supposed to volunteer at the house and make dinner on June 1st, but his ride (parents) ended up with other plans, so we just got around to the dinner part of the plan tonight.
We had a lot of great help to complete our task. The women made dinner for the house. We served a taco/ taco salad bar, Spanish rice, re fried beans, tea, lemonade, and lots of desserts. They will have leftovers for a few days which is nice for them. While the women cooked, the men did some landscaping cleanup of the courtyard. Conner started out by landscaping and then ended up in the house to help the ladies cook. We got to meet a few of the families that are currently residents at the house and hear their stories. That made it all worth it. Their situations are all financially strapping and we did a little bit to help.
It was a great night!
Thanks to everyone who helped tonight make Conner's Birthday Give Back a success!!!!

Pool Party

Saturday, we went to the Ellards for a pool party and grill out. The Ricketts were also there. We swam, ate, and played Nerts. Nerts is a card game that was really fun. The kids played well together and we all had fun!!!

Camping

This weekend, we camped at New Harmonie with the Finch/Mortis family. Conner and Luke are best of buds these days and they loved spending every waking minute of 2 days and nights together.
They played non-stop all weekend. The biggest hit was the gators. They each brought a gator and we were constantly charging batteries. They also walked to the nature center, played in the sprinkler, rode bikes, played with silly string, squirters, play dough, painted, and caught fireflies.
Luke also had his very first overnight Saturday in our camper. Luke has never ever spent a night away from both of his parents at one time. He did great and I think he was very proud of himself.
His mom and dad's camper was a site away which helped, I'm sure.
It was a great weekend and we can't wait to camp with them again soon.

Father's Day Fun!

For Father's Day, Conner and I let Daddy sleep til 10:30!!!! We never let him do that! Meanwhile, we went to the grocery and planned a picnic and went to the doughnut bank to get every one's favorites!
We woke him up and had doughnuts and lounged around til 12:30 and then headed to Burdette Park for a picnic and playing on the playground. We had hamburgers, pasta salad, chips, and cake! Then, we let Steve open his gifts! Next, Nap time.

Happy Father's Day PaPa!

We went to the Holy Spirit Summer social to see The Broekers.
Jamie did a heck of a good job organizing the social! It rocked!
