Sophie's Birthday Party

Last night was Sophie's Birthday party at her house. It was a costume party which is always a lot of fun. It was an outside, bonfire, chili supper. It turned out really nice. Everyone dressed up, even the adults. I am pretty sure someone fed the Birthday girl "A Spoon Full of Sugar." She was wound up. ALS Walk

Today, Conner and I, along with several other Elfreichs walked in the 2009 Walk To DeFeat ALS walk. Steve's grandma died of ALS in 2000. Steve had to be on Franklin Street for Fall Festival Set-up. It was a great morning but Very windy.

Happy Birthday Sophia

Today, our niece, Sophia, turns the Big 2 years old. She is quite the character and so much fun to be around. We have loved watching her grow and change. She has her own personality. She reminds me A LOT of Steph. Have a great day Sohpie. We will see you tomorrow. Love You.

Girls Night Out

Tonight, we had a long overdue girls night out at Bar Louie's. The food was good, the drinks were cold, and the company was amazing. It has been way too long since I have seen my girls and I can't even tell you how much fun I had. It is like we never even skipped a beat. Thanks, girls for a great evening and I look forward to next month.

Celebrate

Tonight, we went out with Jamie, Ben, Hannah, and Kyle to celebrate two special girls birthdays. Jamie's Birthday was today and Hannah's was Sunday. We went to dinner at The Tin Fish.

It was Yummy.Steve and I got Hannah a princess dress.Conner got Hannah all this jewelry.This is the card to Hannah from Conner. It says "Hannah, I plan to give you jewelry for years to come. Love, Conner" We will save this card and jewelry for their 50th wedding anniversary.

Kyle "A.K.A.-Spider Man" brought a book over to Conner and was showing him the pictures. What a sweetheart. Conner watches everything Hannah and Kyle do.

She wanted to try it on at Tin Fish, but she waited until we got back to her house.

Labor Day Camping

We went to New Harmonie camping this weekend for Labor Day. We were camping with a lot of our family and friends. The Rain started Saturday night and there was a lot of it. We stayed Friday and Saturday and then Sunday about 2 am, we went back to Evansville. Conner had been really fussy Saturday afternoon and started running a temp of 100 degrees. At bedtime, it was 101.9 degrees and at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, he woke up screaming with 103 degree temp. It was so obvious he didn't feel well. The Tylenol wasn't bringing the temp down. We paced back and forth in the camper trying to console him. Then we went outside and walked the streets. I realized the people sleeping in the tents probably weren't appreciating this at 1:30 a.m.. So, we took him in the bath house and let him scream. We finally, got him settled down enough to pack a few necessities and head home where we could be a little more comfy. We were up most of the night and he finally went to sleep about 5 a.m. still fighting the 103 degree temp. We took him to the doctor Sunday at noon. He has a viral infection and a inflamed sore throat. Poor guy. No wonder he stopped eating Saturday afternoon. It hurt too bad to swallow. So, we are at home, nursing a sore throat and temperature and getting some rest. It will have to play it's course since it is viral. We had fun the 2 nights we were there. We had fun visiting with everyone.

Sunday is my Goddaughter, Hannah's, 3rd Birthday. We will be camping and won't have computer access. So, we want to wish her an early "Happy Birthday." We love you Hannah and hope you have a great Party. You are a very special little girl. You are growing up so fast into a little princess. Love you.

Camping at Hillman Ferry

This past weekend, the three of us went camping at Land Between the Lakes, Hillman Ferry Campground. We had a wonderful time. The weather was awesome once again and the campground was beautiful. It was right on the lake and we had a pretty decent site with a view of the lake. We did some exploring of the Land Between the Lakes area on Saturday and finished the day with dinner at The Moors. Then, we went back to the camp and make peach cobbler in the dutch oven. We also played hide and seek with a skunk who was hanging out under our camper, so we were forced to hide out inside for awhile. We had a great weekend and once again, Conner seemed to enjoy the great outdoors. He loves to be outside.

We went to the Land Between the Lakes Nature Center. They had a lot of animals to see. Turkeys, White tail deer, Several owls, a bald eagle, a coyote, a red tail wolf, snakes, turtles, and some other stuff. They also had beautiful gardens with about 50 hummingbirds swarming around the feeders they put there. The woman was even telling the people as they paid to beware of the hummingbirds because they were going crazy today. It was very impressive. I get excited when I see one hummingbird, but to see 50 all at the same time was awesome.

We also went to the Golden Pond Visitor Center and Planetarium. We went to a show at the planetarium about weather. Conner had different plans, so Steve and him sat outside during the show.

This is not the skunk we were playing hide and seek with. That was a real one.
