Nut Club Dance

Tonight, Steve and I had the Nut Club Appreciation Dance, so Grandma Payne and Cousin Sophie came down to play with Conner. They seemed to have a lot of fun. We came home to a zonked out little boy so he must have played hard. Mom said he stayed busy watching every move Sophie made. Sophie said she had fun playing with all of Conner's toys. Thanks Grandma and Sophie for Conner's play date.

Halloween Camping Weekend

This past weekend, we went to Lincoln State Park to camp. It rained non-stop from Friday at 3pm to 3am Saturday. It cleared up Saturday and was a nice day and even nicer Sunday. The campground was full of family and friends. We got to do some visiting and got a lot of fresh air. Saturday afternoon, there was trick or treating in the campground. Conner slept for the first hour and a half of it, so we went to a couple of sites after he woke up. Everyone was so creative with their costumes. It was a lot of fun. It was our last family camping trip this season.

The Payne Family Patoka Lake Weekend

This weekend was our annual Patoka Lake Payne Weekend. This was our 9th year going to Patoka and spending the weekend in cabins with our aunts, uncles, cousins, and little cousins. There was non-stop fun and activities not to mention lots of yummy food. The weather was a little chilly, but not too bad. We had trick or treating from cabin to cabin for the little ones. This was lots of fun.
My dad and Steve have been working on a special project. They made a barrel train and worked hard to get it done in time for Patoka weekend. They got it done in the nick of time and all the little ones where glad they did. It was a hit. If they could have driven the lawnmower themselves, the train probably would have gone non-stop. If there was an adult available to be the conductor, the train was full. Conner and Sophie are extra lucky because that train will be year round fun for them since it belongs to their Granddaddy. Wow, are they spoiled or what?????????? I am sure the barrel train will be the hit of every birthday party for years to come.Conner is a little too little just yet, but he had fun playing with the steering wheel and horn in the parked position. All Aboard!!!!!!!!!!!
Never an empty seat.
Sophie and Conner in park. Maybe in the spring Conner.
Trying to stay warm. We braved the weather Saturday for short periods at a time.
Movie star material.
My Monkey
Who knew monkies and lady bugs were best friends.
We had a very special visit on Saturday from Grandmother and Sister. They stopped by for the trick or treating activities. Conner snuggled right up to one of his favorite spots, his Great-grandmother's lap. He had so much to show her. It had only been 12 days since he visited her last and now he had two teeth to show her and he wanted to show off his sitting up skills.
Bundled up like the Chrismas Story kid to keep warm on Saturday.
The temperature was in the 40's.
Conner liked playing with Sophie's baby doll. It teaches character. Right??????
I had lots of help this weekend. Sophie pitched right in to feed Conner

Visiting with Paul and Elaine

This week, Uncle Paul and Aunt Elaine came in town from Michigan for the Fall Festival and to visit. Unfortunately, it rained a lot while they were here. They did get to spend the day Saturday at the Festival. Last night was their last night in town so we all went to Stanton and Shirley's for dinner. Shirley made a wonderful dinner and pumpkin and pecan pie. It was great to see them. Come back soon Paul and Elaine. Hopefully next time it will be better weather.
