Camping at Hillman Ferry

This past weekend, the three of us went camping at Land Between the Lakes, Hillman Ferry Campground. We had a wonderful time. The weather was awesome once again and the campground was beautiful. It was right on the lake and we had a pretty decent site with a view of the lake. We did some exploring of the Land Between the Lakes area on Saturday and finished the day with dinner at The Moors. Then, we went back to the camp and make peach cobbler in the dutch oven. We also played hide and seek with a skunk who was hanging out under our camper, so we were forced to hide out inside for awhile. We had a great weekend and once again, Conner seemed to enjoy the great outdoors. He loves to be outside.

We went to the Land Between the Lakes Nature Center. They had a lot of animals to see. Turkeys, White tail deer, Several owls, a bald eagle, a coyote, a red tail wolf, snakes, turtles, and some other stuff. They also had beautiful gardens with about 50 hummingbirds swarming around the feeders they put there. The woman was even telling the people as they paid to beware of the hummingbirds because they were going crazy today. It was very impressive. I get excited when I see one hummingbird, but to see 50 all at the same time was awesome.

We also went to the Golden Pond Visitor Center and Planetarium. We went to a show at the planetarium about weather. Conner had different plans, so Steve and him sat outside during the show.

My Birthday Gift !!

I would like to thank my wife, parents, mother & father-in-law, sisters-in-law & brother-in-law for all chipping in to buy me a brand new factory Ford Leather wrap steering wheel for my truck. If you have ridden in my truck lately you would know that the my steering wheel was in horrible condition and has been this way since 30,000 miles Ford did admit that most steering wheels in the Super Duty Series were defective but would not replace them because they did not deem them to be a safety hazard. Well Thanks to everyone my truck now looks good as new again!! THE UGLY WHEEL!!!!

OK!! I REMOVED THE AIRBAG WITH OUT BLOWING OFF MY HEAD! WARNING!! IF YOU ARE GOING TO DO THIS YOURSELF DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST LIKE I DID AND LEARN HOW TO REMOVE IT WITH OUT BLOWING YOUR HEAD OFF!! BECAUSE THEY WILL GO OFF WHEN YOU TAMPER WITH THEM!!

Party at the Broekers

Today was the party at the Broekers. We had great food, especially the BBQ pork, and great company. It was great to see a lot of people we haven't seen in awhile. Thanks Jamie and Ben for the great party.

Conner hadn't seen his girlfriends for over a week since he has started Daycare. I don't know who was more excited to see who. Conner to see the girls or the girls to see Conner. He knew instantly who they were. He knows their voices and faces very well. He talked up a storm with them almost like he was telling them everything that had been going on since he saw them last.

This is Conner and Lilly. They are two days apart in age. Lilly was born on May 6th and Conner on May 8th and we were neighbors at St. Mary's Hospital. Conner weighs 20 lbs and Lilly weighs 10 lbs.

Conner turned 3 months old today. I told him this party was for his birthday. I told him that all of the people came for him, and the blow up jumper and the slip and slide were for his party too. He seemed really happy to know that. Thanks Jamie and Ben for throwing such a great 3 month birthday party for Conner. I can't wait to see what you do for his 1 year Birthday.

Party before the Party

Our good friends, Jamie and Ben are having a huge party Saturday to end the summer. They asked Steve to work his magic and smoke his famous pork butts for the party. Now, if you have never tasted Steve's BBQ pork butts, you have simply missed out on one of the best things in the world. He is a pro on the smoker. So, Friday afternoon, the cooking started. He smoked 19 butts or 160 lbs.. It wasn't all for the party but also for friends and family who ordered butts for themselves. Things got going around 3 pm and they were finally off the grill at midnight. They cooled over night and then they were pulled Saturday morning and sauced. I sampled the finished product and remembered why he is the best cook I know.

We made a party out of it to kick off Saturday's party. We grilled hamburgers, made cheesy potatoes, carrot cake and yellow watermelon. Yes, yellow watermelon. Of course, a few beverages were consumed. A great time was had by all and I can't wait until the real party today.

Conner's Baptism

Conner was Baptised today. It was an awesome day. Deacon Dave Rice did the ceremony and did such a wonderful job. It was all so beautiful and special. I will post more pictures when mom and Baby aren't sooo....... tired from celebrating.

Fourth of July Camping

This weekend, we went to New Harmonie Camping Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The weather was great, except for Saturday. The constant down pour on Saturday gave us a great excuse to stay in the camper and take long naps and watch movies. On Friday, we had guests and made dinner. Jamie, Ben, Hannah, Kyle, Michelle, Kelsey, Maddie, Stanton, and Shirley came to visit. It was a day and night of great food, great weather, and great company.

Sophie's Big News

Sophia came over Thursday evening before we left for New Harmonie to tell us something. She was sporting a new T-shirt. Congratulations Tim, Steph, and Sophie. The new addition is due to arrive Feb.10th. They are not finding out what they are having.
